LOCAL FAVOURITES

local food, lovingly prepared

In Woolacombe we are blessed to be part of a passionate community of foodies. Whether it’s hand-stretched pizzas, sizzling garlic prawns, locally-landed fish, or seasonal goodness… some places seem to have good food woven into their DNA. Woolacombe is one of them.

These are our top picks, all are within walking distance of the hotel…

DOYLE’S RESTAURANT

in the hotel

Doyle’s is an enchanting dining room, with views of the waves. Home to delicious morning and afternoon dining, this high-ceilinged, glittering space is where you can enjoy a leisurely Afternoon Tea.

Served in three-tiers featuring sweet delicacies, warm scones, and delicate savouries, this is a relaxing ritual, best complemented by a flute of fizz and a cup of loose-leaf tea. As the afternoon light floods in through the sweeping windows, you’ll be able to linger, ponder, and watch the waves crash.

Miss Fea’s Cafe

a coastal stroll away

“Miss Fea’s Cafe underneath the Smuggler’s Rest B&B in Mortehoe, is appealing whatever the weather; the terrace and garden are ideal on sunny summer days and it’s the perfect place to drink hot chocolate by the wood-burner if you want to shelter from stormy weather. Open April – October.”
I LOVE THE SEASIDE TRAVEL GUIDE

This little gem is a short coastal walk away. 30 minutes by foot and you’ll see some lovely coastal views, while working up an appetite.

THE BAY BRASSERIE

For vibrant brasserie fare, this should be your dining den of choice. Head Chef Eddie Grecu prepares a seasonal menu that showcases the region’s finest produce. Expect seafood fresh off the dayboats, vegan-friendly dishes, and beautifully presented tapas-style platters.

By day, choose a table in the light, bright inside courtyard. By night, dine by candlelight, then climb the stairs to bed.
