Easter Events & Spring Highlights 2017
06 March 2017
With the longer, cheerier days of spring approaching there’s so much to look forward to in North Devon, from some live entertainment to the best in local cuisine! Add special events for Mother’s Day and Easter and it is shaping up to be an exciting time. Here are just some of the highlights to look forward to, including some of the best hotel deals for spring 2017.
Delicious Mother’s Day Dining!
Mums do far more than their share of cooking at the best of times. So why not give her a break this Mothering Sunday and treat her to a special lunch on us. Doyle’s Restaurant has a very special four course menu to delight all tastes this year. Full of locally-sourced favourites and fresh twists, we will also welcome every adult diner with a glass of bubbly. So, forget the flowers (and the washing up!) and join us for the best Mother’s Day lunch in North Devon! Read more here.
Easter and April events at Arlington Court
There are some truly beautiful gardens and National Trust properties to roam this spring. But perhaps the pick of them is Arlington Court. Not content with the classic Easter Egg hunt, the month of April also sees a whole stack of enjoyable all-ages events. You could brush up your gardening skills with the ranger, try your hand at crafts or just head down to see the newest additions to the grounds, Arlington’s lambs. They’re not just there to be cuddled though; as you’ll learn from friendly talks, they also help maintain the grounds. Click here for more on current events and opening times for spring 2017.
Springtime is Spa Time
If you're finding it tough to shake off the winter blues, little beats some spa time at The Haven. Our range of treatments is enough to put a spring in anyone’s step, whether you go for a short but sweet dose of body TLC or an indulgent full spa day. Should you wish to add a Mother’s Day bonus, we are also running one of our special spa offers at the moment with an Elemis Skin Specific Facial at just £45; or alternatively you could treat her to one of our gift vouchers, such as a Cream Tea and Spa Treatment combo.
Music and Live Entertainment
It’s an increasingly badly kept secret that the North Devon coast is enjoying a bit of a cultural renaissance in terms of live gigs and comedy shows. Ever seen a guy play two guitars at once? Guitar wizard Rodney Branigan will be doing exactly that on March 18th at Woolacombe’s Lee Memorial Hall. The Red Barn, just a short walk from our doors, is as busy as ever this spring too. Everything from ska to folk and rockabilly appears on their typically eclectic roster of talent. Click here for listings.
Easter Events & Family Fun in North Devon
For all those in the area this Easter weekend, there are a whole range of special goings on. From Good Friday (April 14th) right through to Easter Bank Holiday Monday (April 17th) there is a daily Cadbury’s Easter Egg Hunt in Woolacombe sand dunes. All you need to do is pick up a map and set of clues from the Tourist Information Centre. Click here for more details.
Alternatively, families could always head to one of the attractions for Easter weekend. The Big Sheep has its very own Easter Egg-stravaganza (April 1st- 17th) with prizes and hands on activites. Meanwhile the Milky Way has it’s own Easter Grotto from 3rd-27th April where little ones can meet the Easter Bunny; or for older kids Saturday 15th April is a Star Wars special where movie fans can meet a whole range of authentic characters from the films.
